About the Event

Open to all social work practitioners across Adult and Children's Services within the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership. Please see our Partner organisations below.

Webinar overview:

In the climate of more flexible working patterns, greater ability to work at home, dispersed teams and fewer in person activities in certain sectors the need for a creative whole team approach to student placements is greater than ever. This training aims to increase manager’s confidence in their ability to provide high quality student placements within their team and to re imagine how a team approach is possible in the current working environment. The training will take the form of a 30 minute presentation followed by a 15 minute Q&A.

The webinar will consider key factors which can enhance the placement experience for the student social worker as well as offering greater support to those acting as Practice Educators or On-Site Supervisors. Topics will include: planning for placement ( eg preparing the team, suitable learning opportunities, expectations of placements) and the placement experience ( eg allocation of work, contributing to assessments, supporting staff).

Deadlines for registering:

Please note, your space will not be confirmed until after this deadline date, when a member of the Programme Team will be in touch to confirm the status of your booking, i.e. if you have secured a space or if you will be placed on the waiting list
